FHSD Celebrates 300 AP Scholars

FHSD is proud to announce that 300 students, the most in District history, have been named Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars for 2019-20. The AP program recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through AP courses and exams with the prestigious AP Scholar Awards.  Read more about AP Scholars 2020

Six Years Strong: FHC Junior Raises Funds for Friends of Children

Six years strong. Those words hold great meaning and pride for FHC junior Emma Sieveking. They represent six years since she was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenille Diabetes and six years of not letting the disease stop her from embracing life. To honor her determined battle with diabetes, Emily organized a “24 miles in 24 hours” challenge and raised money for the FHSD Friends of Children fund.  Read more about Six Years Strong: FHC Junior Raises Funds for Friends of Children

The Francis Howell School District has been named to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Top Workplaces list for the seventh time in the past eight years. Francis Howell School District understands the importance of transitioning our new middle school students and high school students into their new buildings for the 2020-21 school year. Rather than dedicating a specific day prior to the start of the school year, all Francis Howell middle schools and high schools have committed to including transition activities throughout the first week of school (Aug. 31 - Sept. 4) for these students.   Read more about Transition Day Update
Canvas Learning Management System
Canvas Learning Management System – Secondary Level

The Francis Howell School District will be utilizing Canvas as our middle and high schools’ online learning management system (LMS). Identified as a priority by internal and external stakeholders as part the District’s strategic planning initiative, teachers will use Canvas as an online learning platform for blended and online teaching and learning. Free and Reduced-Priced Meals
Free and Reduced-Priced Meals

Free and reduced-priced breakfast and lunch meals are available for those who qualify in the Francis Howell School District. FHC Sportsmanship Award

The FHC Boys and Girls Basketball programs and Activities Department were recently awarded the 2019-20 Sportsmanship Award by the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials, Inc. (IAABO). This award is voted on by the member basketball officials. The award is given annually to the Gateway Athletic Conference (GAC) school whose players, coaches, and fans model the best sportsmanship throughout the season in all three levels, including Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman. This is the sixth consecutive year, and the seventh time in the last eight seasons, that FHC has earned this prestigious award.  Read more about FHC Sportsmanship Award

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the 2019-2020 school year ended abruptly and not the way we wanted. When our schools open this fall, they will look a little different. FHSD High School Return to Activities/Athletics Guidelines

District high school activities and athletics will continue the process of returning to participation when Phase 2 begins on July 1. Student and staff safety is always a top priority of the Francis Howell School District and our schools. FHSD 2020 Bus Inspections

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is responsible for conducting annual safety inspections of all school buses across the state. Representatives of the MSHP Motor Vehicle Inspection Section were in Francis Howell on June 17 and 18 to inspect the 191 buses in the FHSD transportation fleet. After a thorough inspection of all systems from bumper to bumper, 189 buses met all required standards for an initial passage rate of 99%. Two buses had minor issues that were repaired quickly, and every FHSD bus passed the final inspection.  Read more about FHSD 2020 Bus Inspections
